Book Shops and Books on JaveaA Few Good Bookshops and Some Recommended Reading. There are a number of shops that sell books in Javea. Most newsagents will also sell a smattering of books in English and other European languages. The three shops we'd like to tell you about are as follows: New Books and Best Sellers Javea has an excellent bookshop for those seeking English books for light reading, best sellers, childrens books, reference and books on Spain. 'Bookworld' is located directly opposite the largest supermarket in Javea Mercadona. Second Hand In the heart of the Port shopping area and directly behind the tourist office, you will find a great booshop brimming over with English books, novels and autobiographies. There is also a small selection of books on the local region in English. Local Language Books If you are more interested in the local culture and books in the traditional Valencian dialect, there is a small bookshop right by the Central Post Office in the Old Town, which offers an unusual mix of books on both Spain, historical subjects and modern publications in the local dialects. Books on Javea Although there have been many books written about Spain and the Costa Blanca, it is difficult to get the true feel of Javea from these or guide books. However, a couple of years ago a book came out that we feel really does tell you about Javea and provides many pictures that bring Javea to life off the page. This is available in bookshops in Javea and can also be ordered direct from the publisher.
