Most of the trade is undertaken very early in the morning and is very much oriented to business wholesale, but it is possible to go and see the catches on display by getting permission to enter, but this cannot always be accomodated for safety reasons. Outside the trading area are a few stalls that will sell freshly caught seafood and fish and these are very popular with the locals. Its also nice just to pass by the market and take a wander around the marina and along the marina walls that provide excellent views of Javea.

Javea Fish Market - Welcome to JaveaTraders and TrawlersJavea has been a fishing port for thousands of years. Today the port remains in full use by small private fishermen, a few family businesses and the odd small commercial trawler. The port isn't big or deep enough to accomodate the really big vessels that head for Valencia, but nevertheless, there is a daily supply of catches served up for the local fishmongers and restaurant traders to select from.
