Market Stalls, Trinket Shops and Huge Choice of Ceramics
If browsing for bargains is your thing, Javea offers a wide range of opportunities to keep you coming back for more.
Souvenirs
Most of the smaller shops around the Javea Port and Arenal areas will offer basic trnkets and souvenirs to take back home to your friends and families, however, we would encourage you to take a look at a few other outlets that provide more choice and better value for money.
Ceramics
On the main Cabo la Nao Road, between the port and beach area, there is a fantastic factory outlet that is well worth a visit. In addition to porcelain you will find a wide range of kitchen and dining wares, ornaments and gifts.
Market Day
Every thursday there is a market in the Plaza de la Constitution, just in front of the central police station and hospital. In addition to all the fantastic and fresh fruit and veg, there are also leather goods, giftware and linen stalls that may take your fancy.
Evening Market
Each evening during the summer (and a some evenings throughout the rest of the year) traders set up there stalls along the promenade at the Arenal. Here you can find jewellery, hand carved ornaments, handbags, trinkets, leather items and art and craft stalls.
Save Some Money For the Trip Home!
If you are planning to come out to Javea for your holidays and shall be renting a car, here is a little tip. When you are heading back to the airport in your hire car, drive to Gata and pick up the main road towards the motorway. Just a short distance the other side of Gata you will find one of the largest giftware shops in the region. You can't miss it because its massive, straddles both side of the road and the buildings are painted bright yellow. Here the range of goods is simply unbelievable and the prices are much lower than the traders and shops you will find up and down the coastline. In addition to the stoneware garden furniture (which can be shipped back home) the choice of ceramics, art, paintings, kitchen ware, tiles, ornaments, rugs, armour and much, much more is amazing. They also have a small coffee shop in order to take a break whilst you are shopping. Its not in Javea itself, but it has such a range and such good prices that it is well worth a stop.
