Running, Jogging and Atheletics in Javea

A Great Place to Run

Running in Javea is a lovely experience. You can choose from gentle temperatures in the morning and evening, or can venture into the sun. Most visitors to Javea choose to run in the mornings, whereas residents often prefer the early evening before dinner. The port area is a favoured route along the promenade, down the seashore and through the Arenal. There are some good hills for developing your stamina and plenty of flat roads leading out of the town. One of the best runs however, for those who can manage more than a few miles, is to run to the lighthouse. Taking the Denia road up the side of Montgo, you then turn right at the hilltop following the signs to the monastery. This long straight road will take you all the way to the lighthouse and to some fantastic views over Javea and out towards the see, with Ibiza visible on a clear day.

For those wanting shorter routes the shoreline and main roads between the Port, Old TOwn and Arenal provide very safe routes, whch won't require you to run on busy roads.

View From the Lighthouse

Even if you are not up to the long run from Javea to the lighthouse, its worth driving up and having a run along the straight and easy lighthouse road just to get the views.
