About Javea

Javea is a traditional market town and fishing port that has grown modestly into a delightful place to holiday, retire, or live a more simple life. It is steeped in history over many centuries and enjoys an ambience and charm reserved primarily for the local Spanish residents, but which is now enjoyed by a significant community of expatriates who love the tranquil lifestyle and healthy cliamte.

A Relaxing Place to Live Javea is a small market town and fishing port, which offers a mix of holiday and living choices to suit those seeking a relaxed and peaceful environment. Planning restrictions have also preserved the traditional town atmosphere by not allowing massive buildings that distort the landscape in other resorts. Javea's climate also provides for a much more temporate average temperature, gentle breezes and a short winter. Air quality is also fantastic. Being much smaller and quieter than other big coastal resorts, it is an ideal destination for those seeking a relaxed holiday or lifestyle..

Holiday in the Sun During the spring and Autumn Javea provides a lovely blend warmth and quietude. During the peak holiday months of July and August, temperatures do rise, but never reach the stifling heat experienced further down South in Andalucia. Nevertheless, the unheated swimming pools usually provide a lovely temperature that refreshes without freezing your soul! Be it beach or poolside that you are seeking, Javea can provide exactly what you need.

Unwind Away From the Crowds If you are seeking a wild time with lots of nightlife, then look elsewhere. Javea is a highly popular resort amongst the Spanish who live in the big towns inland. It is also favoured by a mixture of Scandinavian, French and German who are looking to avoid the noise and behaviour of masses of foreigners partying to the limit. That is not to say that Javea has no entertainment for families. The festivals, open air concerts in the port and popular festival provide excellent and free music for you to enjoy. There are even one or two discos scattered around. However, the atmosphere is more family oriented and low key than the big resorts, and it is easy to escape the festivities if that is your preference.

Everything You Need is Close By From five star hotels to small bodegas, Javea enjoys a varied mix of accomodation and local services. The market and supermarkets provide for low cost food and wine, whilst the local medical infrastructure means you are never far away from help. There is also a good range of restaurants, bars and shops to suit all tastes. The Areneal area provides a multi-tude of market stalls and bars, whilst the port and old town offer those seeking a more traditional Spanish feel the opportunity to immerse yourself into the local way of life.

An Affordable Alternative Living and holidaying in Javea can be very affordable. Eating out in the local Spanish restaurants is dramtically less expensive than in many other areas on the Spanish Costas. Naturally, prices do go up in the peak season, however, with a little research and experimentation, you will be amazed at how affordable Javea really is.

A Delightful Staging Post Javea is also marvelously positioned for you to explore the local region. Be it the Jalon Valley, quaint beaches, ferries to Ibiza, the blue lagoons of Guard al Este, the port of Moraira, or even the larger towns of Alicante and Valencia, they are all within easy reach by car, or bus.
