Treating Your Child to a Little Something Might Allow You to Have a More Restful Holiday
There was a time when I hated the idea of 'Gameboys'. But after a 24 hour flight delay at Alicante airport my attitude changed dramatically. There was virtually no complaining about the delay from our two boys during the whole period of the delay, as they had just purchased brand new games at the airport for their Gameboys. We have also found that a few simple toys don't half take the pressure off parents to keep their children amused around the swimming pool! And that means more rest and sun for Dad!
Around Javea you will find many shops that offer an assortment of water toys, games and small toys for toddlers. As the children get older though, most of these offerings start to look boring. There is no need to panic! A short walk from the main Mercodona market and five minutes from the port you will find a great game and toy shop sitting on the one way section of the dual carriageway on Avenida Amenacer. There are free parking bays just a few metres up the road on the left hand side (although be careful crossing the main road as the Spanish are not good at noticing pedestrians close to busy roundabouts). The shop has the best selection of toys and games available in Javea and a reasonable selection of video games.
There is also a big swimming pool and accessory shop just to one side of McDonalds where they also sell packs of water toys including sponge balls, paddles and splash balls, which the boys love playing with around the pool.
The old town also has a small toy shop a short distance from the church and indoor market and the market on Thursdays also has some toy stalls that will interest the children, but you may want to read about these on our Javea Market Page.
There are also a good couple of toy shops in Moraira. These are located in the main high street from the mini roundabout to the port.
